Munna undergoes a transformation after Prabhunath is brutally assassinated. Rajnath Chowdhary: Yashpal Sharma
Opposition party chief Rajnath Chowdhary is the exact antithesis of Prabhunath. He is in politics solely for money and power. While there are many contestants from other political parties, Rajnath's candidate is the main contender for the MLA seat from Jangiganj. Given Prabhunath's simplicity and idealism and his own overwhelming superiority in money and muscle power, Rajnath doesn't consider him a serious contender. However, because of Munna's hard work and the energetic campaigning effort of the grass-root party workers, Prabhunath wins the election against all expectations. Rajnath, being a shrewd and ruthless politician, conspires to get Prabhunath assassinated just after his electoral win.
Rukmi Devi: Kitu Gidwani
The ruling Chief Minister Rukmi Devi always wanted Munna to be part of her party. She succeeds in getting Munna to join her party when he falls into the trap laid by his political adversaries and ends up in jail. Beyond politics, Rukmi Devi is physically attracted towards Munna and uses her enormous political clout to get him out of jail. However, in the next election she loses power because the electorate gets disillusioned with her gross misuse of power and patronage of goonda raj.
Razia: Angira Dhar
Razia is a progressive small town girl who wants to continue her studies even when the odds are heavily stacked against her. After Munna's brother is elected MLA, his residence becomes the de facto court which people approach to seek quick justice. When Razia's sister is troubled by her in-laws, Munna's quick intervention makes them fall in line. Razia, already quite taken in by Munna's rustic charm is impressed by his helpful attitude and says 'yes' when he poses the question! Of course, she doesn't have any inkling of what is to come her way…
Synopsis
Ek Bura Aadmi is a work of fiction inspired by real life stories of well-known criminals turned politicians from the North Indian states of UP and Bihar. The film is a realistic portrayal of power politics where money and muscle play very prominent roles.
The protagonist, Munna Siddiqui is a typical small town youth who starts as a disciple of a politician practicing value-based politics but ends up being a consummate practitioner of manipulative politics.
