A remake of Basu Chatterjee’s 1982 classic comedy filmShaukeen, The Shaukeens, is a feel-good adventure movie that follows three middle-aged men played by Annu KapoorPiyush Mishra and Anupam Kher, who venture on a trip to Mauritius, where they meet the sizzling hot Lisa Haydon. The film also features Akshay Kumar in a very interesting special appearance. Akshay plays an important cameo, while Lisa Haydon plays opposite Akshay Kumar.

The three main characters of the film, Laali played by Kher, Kapoor as KD and Pinky played by Mishra, want to add a little spice to their boring lives and plan a trip to Mauritius.

Akshay, for the first time in his career, will play himself in the film. However, some negative elements have been added to the actor’s character. He will be seen as an arrogant and alcoholic superstar. In one such instance, Akshay is seen throwing off his fan’s camera and ask her to seek his permission before clicking his picture.

Haydon, who was last seen in the blockbuster film “Queen“, plays the lead role and is obsessed with the superstar Akshay.

The comedy, directed by Abhishek Sharma of “Tere Bin Laden” fame, is touted to be a “coming-of-age” film. The movie’s music has an eclectic mix of composers that includes Yo Yo Honey Singh, Hard Kaur, Arko and Vikram Nagi. Among the soundtracks is the smashing hit ‘Meherbani’.

The movie is a modern-day version of the eighties hit Shaukeen which starred Ashok Kumar, Utpal Dutt, A. K. Hangal, Rati Agnihotri and Mithun Chakraborty.
