On Wednesday, May 15, 2019, members of the Toronto Police Service Child Exploitation Section executed a search warrant in the Eglinton Avenue West and Avenue Road area.
It is alleged that:
– a man lured whom he believed to be a 14-year-old girl over social media
– the man was on a social media platform using the handle of “jaytopsirâ€
Jared Battieste, 30, of Toronto, was arrested and has been charged with:
1. Making sexually explicit material available to a person under 16 years of age
2. Luring a child under 16 years
He was scheduled to appear in court on Wednesday, May 15, 2019, at Old City Hall court, at 2 p.m., in room 101.
