Another WMCFW season has come and gone, and this time I found myself at the tents everysingle day, and saw more shows than I normally would have. As such, my full fashion week recap is going to be up sometime next week, with my fave new designers, outstanding pieces, and fave collections, as well as the beauty recap from our contributor Aleyda. But for now, here’s a post about all of the fun outfits I wore to the tents last month.

Thanks to a slew of wonderful photographers like Ania Boniecka, Aleyah Solomon, Jenna Marie Wakani, Ryan Emberley and Stefania Yarhi, among others, I was able to document every look from a variety of angles and lenses…candid and not. It’s a bit of an exercise in narcissism, but hey, this is a style blog, what did you expect?! Let’s get to it, shall we?

On day 1, I ran into the lovely Talia Brown, and we were snapped together for FLAREMagazine. I didn’t bother with my outfit on day 1 – mainly because I had a very intense day at the office, so I simply swapped my ankle booties for a pair of ALDO heels, and my work bag for an ela clutch, and that was it.

After the shows, we were treated to a VIP party courtesy of Joe Fresh, with Solange Knowles on turntables. We were literally inches away from this stylish beauty, but I’m still not sure if waiting nearly 3 hours for the privilege was worth it. My feet were crying by the time I got home.

On Day 2, I actually managed to change out of my office clothes, and into a fun faux leather overalls from H&M. Knowing that a Minnie Mouse party was in the cards, I made sure to grab my trusty sequinned Minnie ears, which completed my look that day. To add a bit of Canadian flare to my outfit, I wore one of my fave falconwright clutches to the tents.

Day 2 was probably the most fun I’ve had at fashion week ever. Not only did I get to party with Minnie Mouse and the Beckerman sisters, I also got to practice my model poses with Canadian supermodel Coco Rocha! How awesome is that?! That seriously made my month.

Between the shows and parties, I also got to hang out with some amazing friends, grabbing a quick dinner at Soho House, and catching up on our fashion week faves. As I said…Day 2 was the best!

Day 3 was short and sweet, and after popping in for my backstage appointment, I was on my way home to get some much-needed rest. I wore a plum Moon Apparel dress, paired with a fluffy pink H&M coat, and another falconwright clutch.

Funny thing happened on Day 4, both Jay Strut and I had the same bright idea, and showed up to the tents in leather Isabel Marant x H&M pants, and motorcycle jackets. Twinsies! Mine was from The Room – a Junya Watanabe for Comme Des Garconscrushed velvet showpiece.

This look was the least Canadian of the bunch…which made me realize that most Canadian pieces that I own are either super dressy (too dressy for the tents), or very summery, which made me make a vow to buy more Canadian knitwear and everydaywear too.

Last day of the week is always the hardest – spending 4 straight evenings at the tents, while still having to go to your day job every morning is very tiring, so by Day 5 I was a sleepy mess. Because of that, I made sure to catch the Mikhael Kale show that I’ve been excited about all week, pop in backstage to see the hair and makeup, before calling it a night.

Fittingly, I wore a Mikhael Kale leather jacket to the show, paired with a printed Zaradress, eyeball clutch from ALDO, and a comfy pair of ankle booties by Saint Laurent.

A couple of fashion friends (Elaisha Jade and Hawley Dunbar) were also feeling “blue” on Friday, and once again, accidentally, we were twinning…or tripling…whatever you want to call it. But I’ll say that it did make for some fun photos.

And that’s it! 5 days of great Canadian fashion, 5 days of fun outfits, 5 days of running around like a crazy person, 5 days of feeling like a sleepwalker, 5 days of hanging out with fashion friends…

Huge thanks to the rock-it promotions team and the volunteers who made sure that the shows went off without a hitch, for working their butts off all week, while still keeping smiles on their faces. It was the smoothest season so far.

Huge thanks to the street style photographers tirelessly snapping outside in the bitter cold and rain season after season. It’s not all fun and games.

Huge thanks to the hair (Redken) and makeup (Maybelline) teams, who managed to create a ton of drop-dead-gorgeous looks yet again, and who let us have a glimpse at backstage magic.

And last, but certainly, not least – an enormous thanks to the Canadian designers that showed this season. In my opinion, it was the strongest season yet, despite some of the top Canadian talent sitting this one out. I can’t wait to share some of my fave looks, and I am grateful that I got to see it all in person. ‘Til next season!
