Proper use of cinnamon is good for health as it contains many important nutrients. Don’t accept such challenges that can destroy your lungs. Just because cinnamon is a naturally occurring spice does not mean that it cannot be harmful. Cinnamon challenge could trigger lasting lung damage. This challenge is incredibly difficult as spice dries out the mouth too quickly. And getting scarring into the lungs is equivalent to getting emphysema.
Swallowing of a tablespoon of the dry cinnamon on dare could lead to serious health problems. It has been proven by latest reports that ingestion of cinnamon powder can damage the lungs.The chemical that gives cinnamon its characteristic smell and zing is called as cinnamic aldehyde. This means there is part of the chemical that acts like formaldehyde that binds and fixes human tissue.
So when a person consumes cinnamon, he not only inhales a tissue fixative but also inhales powdered bark. That is why it is difficult to spit out or more frequently get out of your lungs. The body cannot metabolize cellulose and this stuff in the lungs is hard to expire.
Don’t take cinnamon challenge. It can stick to your lungs and can cause lasting damage to your lungs. If cinnamon is used properly, it can do more good than harm. If you are also tempted to take the cinnamon challenge then you must beware. Otherwise you can end up on a ventilator if you try to pull this one off.
