Balki's films are not known for their music. However, when you find Bhushan Kumar's name as the Music Producer, you are immediately led to believe that there is something special on the way since he is the head honcho at T-Series. He brings on songs by Meet Bros-Yo Yo Honey Singh, Mithoon and Ilaiyaraaja with lyricists Kumaar, Sayeed Quadri and Amitabh Bhattacharya, hence promising an exciting soundtrack.

MUSIC

Step into any club and Jaz Dhami-Yo Yo Honey Singh's 'High Heels' is one of the most popular tracks on play in loop each time around. Hence, it turns out to be just the right decision to bring on the song with Meet Bros. doing their own thing, hence bringing on a fusion sound that picks the best of the original and adds on good bit of its own as well with lyricist Kumaar coming into play. Meanwhile, Aditi Singh Sharma steps in as the female vocalist and together, the team delivers a solid chartbuster that is bound to rise further in popularity in weeks to come.

In an album which is primarily dominated by Meet Bros., guest composer Mithoon steps in with Sayeed Quadri written 'Ji Huzoori'. The song has an unusual flow to it with some unique lyrics that make you get a hang of it after it has been heard a few times. A sad song, it stays on to be situational in appeal where Mithoon brings himself behind the mike along with newcomer Deepali does well.

There is excitement back in the fold with Meet Bros. bringing on 'Most Wanted Munda'. With Earl Edgar chipping in with the rap portions, this one is expected to be an introduction song of Arjun Kapoor. There is a playful manner in which the song unfolds and Meet Bros. do well as the composers and singers to come up with a track that moves ahead at a rapid pace with no dull moment whatsoever. No wonder, it is repeated too in the form of 'Kabir – Most Wanted Munda' which has Palak Muchhal join Meet Bros. as a co-singer. This isn't all as Arjun Kapoor brings himself behind the mike as well for this one.

As for Ilaiyaraaja, the man who is a regular with Balki, there is a guest composition from him in the form of 'Foolishq'. Written by Amitabh Bhattacharya, this one has a trademark Illayaraja stamp to it, though one has to admit that compared to some of the other work he has done in Hindi films over the years, this one sounds much better and more commercially viable. A good credit for that must also go to singers Shreya Ghoshal and Armaan Malik who do well.

Last to arrive is 'Pump It (The Workout Song)' which has newcomer Yash Narvekar taking charge along with Meet Bros. He has a youthful voice and one can well sense that it would go well with Arjun Kapoor once heard and seen along with the film. A situational track, it would all boil down to the manner in which the song is choreographed.

OVERALL

The music of Ki & Ka goes well with the happy and celebratory set up of the film. Expect the soundtrack to compliment the film's narrative.
