Tina Turner musical coming to Toronto
A musical production based on Alanis Morissette’s iconic album, “Jagged Little Pill,” is set to return to Toronto this autumn, providing Canadians with another opportunity to experience the show.
Mirvish Productions has announced that the musical, which premiered off-season last year, will be part of the regular 2023/2024 season and will start its run in October.
The Tony Award-winning book for the show was written by renowned author Diablo Cody and is inspired by the debut album of the Ottawa musician, which was released in 1995. As part of the upcoming season, other jukebox musicals like “Tina – The Tina Turner Musical” and “In Dreams” featuring the music of Roy Orbison will also make their North American debut in September.
Mirvish’s fall lineup also includes the Tony-winning musical “Six,” a contemporary adaptation of the lives of Henry VIII’s six wives, presented in the form of a pop concert. The show will run in Edmonton.
