Drake announces first Detroit concert

Promoters have announced that Drake will perform his first area concert in five years at Little Caesars Arena on July 8. The show is part of Drake’s It’s All A Blur Tour, which includes 29 dates and will be his first local concert since he performed two nights at Little Caesars Arena in Aug. 2018 on his Aubrey & the Three Migos Tour.

Tickets for the concert will go on sale at noon Friday via Ticketmaster channels, with pre-sales beginning on Wednesday through Drake’s website. Drake’s partner on the “Her Loss” project, 21 Savage, will also be joining him on stage.

The tour will kick off on June 16 in New Orleans and will conclude on Sept. 5 in Glendale, Ariz. Drake, who has 11 No. 1 hits on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart and 67 Top 10 songs, also released his seventh full-length studio album, “Honestly, Nevermind,” in 2022.

In a 2016 concert at Joe Louis Arena, Drake surprised the audience by bringing Eminem out on stage with him.
