Congress of South Africa Trade Unions (Cosatu) organized the protest march urging individuals from all walks to life to participate and show the concerned that the nation does not want labor broking and e-tolling.

The protest march started a little before 11 am on Wednesday as the massive crowd raised their voices against the action taken by the government. Beginning from Cape Town, the march is still going on with protestors making their demands to the government quite clear. The crowd that took off from Cape Town had almost covered two blocks and was still going on.

Some marches took a break for a while on their way under the trees to avoid sunlight while others kept on singing and dancing to the tunes and slogans. One of the women in the crowd gathered huge support when she hung at the back of one of Cosatu trucks and started singing “bring me my machine gun”.

Cosatu members as well as members of other various unions also took active part in the protest march often leading the crowed in several places. Other prominent unions taking part in the protest were South Africa Municipal Workers’ Union and the National Union of Metalworkers of South Africa.

Police authorities were keeping a sharp eye on the entire march to ensure security and no mishap at the peaceful protest rally. Marchers seemed positive that the government will listen to their demand when they reach their destination.
