The ruling party, ANC, appreciated the hard work and effort put in by the workers of South Africa in sustaining the economy on the national Worker’s Day on Tuesday.
The official spokesperson of ANC said, “South African workers have distinguished themselves within the hundred years of the existence of the ANC as a significant partner in the struggle for liberation and development. Their progressive and revolutionary outlook has been key in defining the parameters and content of our struggle.”
ANC also commended the contributions made by Chris Dlamini, Vuyisile Mini, Clement Kadalie, and Elijah Barayi. It said, “These stalwarts were amongst the most advanced of our revolutionaries owing to their understanding of the interdependence of the struggle of the workers and those of our communities.”
The President of the ruling party and the President of SA, Jacob Zuma, is also planned to address the workers at the evening put together to appreciate the contributions and efforts of the workers. ANC, Cosatu, and SACP are going to share one stage after a long span of misunderstandings. A number of political celebrities are expected to address the crowd. These include the General Secretary of Cosatu Zwelinzima Vavi, Joint Secretary of ANC Gwede Mantashe, and the deputy General Secretary of SACP Jeremy Cronin.
