A circular from the traffic department signed by the Director of Traffic Police Lieutenant Colonel Romeo Liwa Erum says that all Government vehicles and motorcycle number plates have been changed to read as EEG from EES.

All government vehicles and motorcycles will have new log books bearing the new number plates.

The traffic department has instructed all the state ministries to register motor vehicles and motorcycles with it.

The circular also directs government drivers and motorists to obey traffic laws and regulations for instance observing traffic signs and speed limits within towns to stand at 30 kilometres per hour.

Drivers working with government, international and local NGOs and UN agencies have been asked to carry with them their driving licences and motor vehicle log books.

The move comes after concerns that some government officials are fixing unauthorised number plates on their official vehicles.
