The school head boy Samuel Manyang told Gurtong that the school has a historical significance as it was established in 1978 and that its name should not be changed.

The students said they have not received any communication from the Ministry of Education about the merging of their school with Bor Complex School.  “The merging of the two schools was not clear from the government, so we need to know”, said Manyang.

The students also claimed that the two schools are now being managed by one headmaster, a factor that is affecting the administration and learning.

There also exists a language barrier affecting learners as Malek uses English while Bor Complex uses Arabic language for instruction.
