The Late Otwari passed on at dawn while undergoing treatment in Juba after he suffered a stroke last week in Torit.

The state government spokesperson, Felix Otuduha Siro said the state has lost a great freedom fighter who contributed in the liberation struggle.

Deputy Speaker Paul Napwon Yonae said the late fell sick on Monday 15 during the reopening of the assembly and was referred to Juba for further treatment and medication.

Members have sent condolences messages to the family members of the late legislator.

Speaker Emmanuel Ambrose Ocholimoi announced adjournment of the session to enable members join the family of the late in mourning at his home in Torit.

The late Otwari was an SPLM Member representing Lotuko of the main Torit town constituency number one.

He joined the house during the April 2010 elections and has left behind three wives with fifteen children.

Funeral arrangements are made to transport the body from Juba.

In 1972, he was absorbed to the rank of Captain in the Sudanese army and was later exiled in Egypt but in about 1995 he escaped to join the SPLA movement.

He was later promoted to Alternate Commander and continued until he became Major General and later Lieutenant General until his death.

The late was one of Southern Anyanya One movement’s officers who fought for liberation.
