Prof. Elias Nyamlel, South Sudanese Deputy Minister of International Cooperation said the cooperation agreement was inked in Addis Ababa.
“The agreement between South Sudan and Benin is a diplomatic cooperation agreement for mutual cooperation and establishing diplomatic representation at Ambassadorial level,” Nyamlel told the press yesterday upon arrival from Addis Ababa.
“I think it was very good they are enthusiastic about it and so we are also enthusiastic about the agreement. We would like to have very good relations with Benin; it is one of the countries that have really supported us with a lot of things,” he added.
Nyamlel said the cooperation with the Economic Community Of West African States (ECOWAS) founding member state will position South Sudan in the heart of the ECOWAS’s economic and political scene which the Presidential envoys led by Pagan Amum last week concluded a tour lobbying for support.
The cooperation agreement “it has several benefits,” Nyamlel said, adding “we are members of different regional and international organizations. You never know when they will come to our end and when we will not come.”
