Qian Guojin the Managing Director of Chinese Jiangsu International Company was accompanied by Cecilia Oba, the Central Equatoria State Minister for Cabinet Affairs during the visit.

Qian said the company is interested in investing the manufacturing industry in Yei River County.

Qian added that they will be assessing clay areas and delivery of basic services to the communities.

He said the company is to invest in log processing as Yei County is blessed with natural and reserve forests.

Qian also added that the company will be sending a technical team to assess agricultural potentials for exploring in April.

Chinese Jiangsu International Company is a development partner to Central Equatoria State and has 10 projects running in Juba including the construction of government offices.

The delegation will be visiting Tore Payam and Madu area in eastern part of Yei River County to assess the potentials.

Yei County Commissioner Juma David Augustine appreciated the interest developed by the Chinese company to invest in Yei.

He urges the investor to establish a timber processing chamber to process the forest products that can be exported.

Juma also said there is opportunity to develop hydroelectric power in Yei to boost development.
Yei is one of the growing counties in Central Equatoria State and in South Sudan interns of development and investment.

The Delegation was sent by the Governor of Central Equatoria State.

Early this month, Professor Martin Oudo, the Under Secretary in the National Ministry of Agriculture Forestry, Cooperative and Rural Development accompanied the investors from Tecnoserve Company who showed interest to invest in a coffee project in Mugwo Payam.
