Governor Launches Volleyball Competition In Upper Nile State

“Upper Nile State is very strong in sport activities since from the time the country was in the regional state and so I think you surely do wonders in time to come,” said the governor of the Simon Kun Puoch.

“If you can remember last sport competition in the country came from Upper Nile State were our girls even participated well too,” he added.

Governor Kun promised to prepare the stadium and playing grounds for youth to practice and improve their talents.

The Culture, Youth and Sport Minister Akuoch Thiang Deng said the competition will be used to encourage the youth in the state.

The State Police Commissioner Brigadier James Biel Ruot blamed the government officials for not supporting the volleyball competition as most of the government employees were supposed to be present but they missed the event.

The volleyball match was played between Police Volleyball Team and State Star Volleyball Team where the Police Team won with three sets to nil.

Captain Martin Stephen from Police Volleyball Team thanked the minister for the support during the training practice and his colleagues for the great achievement by winning.

The Star Volleyball Team Captain Gwang Jodho Nyikayo thanked the governor for his support through sport activities saying that “in every competition there are losers and winners, we may win next time.”

The Police Team Coach Wei Gang Lual urged the government to assist all players in all fields of sport activities.
