Governor Rizik Zackaria Hassan was speaking to Gurtong on Monday in his office. He dismissed rumours of rift between him and his newly appointed Education Minister, Morris Yel Akol Tit.

“I do not have any single problem with my ministers including Morris Yel Akol Tit but if my own appointed minister happens to have a problem with me, it will be dwelt with administratively,” said Rizik.

“I have the right to dismiss any minister who does not comply with me and the policies of the state government.”

The governor said last month, he appointed the ministers based on recommendations, qualities, relationship with the SPLM ruling party, loyalty and respect to me, technical know-how, office management, personal integrity and their communal supports..

“Therefore, if one among these ministers is not complying with the above, then I will deal with him or her administratively,” he said. “Ramous are indicating that I have a problem with my minister, I don’t think so but if it is him who has a problem with me, he did not tell what problem it is.”

According to the governor, he cannot be simply influenced by somebody, saying he makes his own decision but admitted having received petitions about the education minister.

He however disclosed that since Yel was sworn in, he didn’t attend any state council of ministers meeting with him and has left for Juba without informing him of his mission.

The governor pledged to handle any misunderstanding administratively.
