Boboya James, NPA’s Programme Coordinator for the media project told Gurtong that the move was reached after a two day meeting that brought at least 50 delegates from all the operational sectors of NPA in Yei, Central Equatoria State.
Dubbed NPA Staff National Union, “it is formed to protect and defend the rights of the staffs working with NPA,” Boboya said.
He said the staff were compelled to form the union in an effort to provide leadership that will diplomatically sort out issues in an event that workers feel their rights are abused.
Yet to be registered by the government, the union passed its constitution yesterday and formed a leadership already.
