The Youth and Sports State Minister Gibson Wande together with the State Minister of Physical Infrastructure Clement Juma Mbugoniwia witnessed the official launching and handover of the newly constructed office which comprises of three rooms to the traffic police department in Nzara County.
Gibson Bullen Wande, congratulated Nzara County Commissioner for the initiative taken to construct a Traffic Police Office with help from the locals to help reduce traffic problems in the county.
“If you need help start doing something and people will see your seriousness and later help you not you cry for help when you have not done anything,” Wande said.
The minister urged the traffic officers to continue creating awareness to people through radio while urging the parents who are buying motorbikes to their children instead of sending them to school to stop it adding that they are destroying the future of their sons and daughters.
He said the state is peaceful and people should not spread wrong information on the current political situation in the country adding that with Addis Ababa discussions, peace will soon prevail because negotiations will bear peace.
Host Commissioner Elia Box said that the initiative of constructing an office came as a result on the local revenue collection in the county.
Elia further mentioned that despite the austerity measure, the local collections were able to do something and the vision of the county is to construct all the departmental offices in the county.
He further appealed to the state government to provide them with a vehicle because that is what is missing with some departments.
The commissioner urged the citizens to live in harmony and avoid tribalism, gossiping and say no to war because peace is needed.
The occasion was witnessed by Brigadier of Police and some Members of Parliament.
