The State Minister of Information Philip Jiben Ogal says Mabaan County, north of the state is the area that has been bombed.

“Mabaan County has been bombed by warplanes. We don’t know where they came from,” Jiben told Gurtong.

“I have tried to call the commissioner of Mabaan for details but the network difficulties in the area could not allow phone calls.

“It is true that (war) planes have bombed in that part. So far there are no casualties reported.”

Last year, the county was bombed several times and the officials accused, neighbouring Sudan of the offensive.

Maban County in Upper Nile hosts thousands of Sudanese refugees who fled the hostilities in Southern Blue Nile State between government and rebels.

The refugees have since  begun a new life in South Sudan.
