The rally attended by thousands of people was led by two senior members of the SPLM Political Bureau.
The SPLM Youth league ChairmanPaul Akol Kordit, who is also a member of the SPLM political bureau urged Torit residents to maintain peaceful image of the country.
“The country needs stability and harmony among the entire tribes of South Sudan,” Hon Akol said.
“Children are dying, women are dying – houses are put on fire by rebels – government institutions in Bor, Malakal and Unity state are being destroyed. The country is bleeding. We need peace and stability.”
According to Akol, residents must remain united as one people and one nation with all tribes having value and norm as a nation and not as a tribe.
Daniel Awet Akot, the deputy chairman of CMC appealed to the entire nation for peace and forgiveness.
