The announcement came after the State Council of Ministers last week unanimously endorsed the ministry’s plan for an international cultural festival in the state.
The Council also approved the formation of committees including the financial committee tasked with mobilizing one million South Sudanese pounds earmarked for the event.
“Over 40 different types of cultures from distinguished people in the region
would be performed as part of the show,” the minister told a press conference on Thursday.
He said the event will target activities including drama, threatre, art painting, traditional and modern music, traditional, poem and cinema among others.
According to him, the state has invited different expert artists and actors from foreign countries including neighbouring Uganda, Kenya, Congo, Ethiopia, South Africa and some Countries who will be part of the performance.
The minister said President Salva Kiir Mayardit is also expected to attend the cutural festival. South Sudan that gained her independence nearly three
years ago is inhabitated by about 64 ethnic groups with divesre cultures.
