The Upper Nile State Information Minister Peter Hoth Tuac told Gurtong on telephone from Malakal Friday that the state budget will majorly focus on development.

Hoth, who is also the state spokesman, said the State parliament had debated on the proposed budget andpassed it on Friday.

He said the State Minister of Finance and Economic Planning Ayong Awer Lual confirmed the 742,907,638 South Sudanese Pounds budget was approved by 26 members of parliament.

Finance and Economic Planning Minister Lual said the budget approved rose from about 560 million South Sudanese Pounds last year.

“The budget will also focus on development of physical infrastructure which was destroyed in the town of Malakal during the recent crisis”, he said.
