In an official released statement, the Minister of Parliamentary Affairs in the state, Daniel Akol Diing has refuted the claims of the Governor’s dismissal from the party saying the conjectures are only cooked political propaganda against the Caretaker Governor and the party.
“I saw a newspaper about the dismissal of the Governor from the SPLM Party and would like to respond to this and do hereby confirm that this is a BIG lie! it had not happened and it will never happen simply because Hon. Kuel is neither answerable to Angelo Akech Akeen nor Aweil State Secretariat or Liberation; he is answerable to the SPLM Chairperson at National Level or SPLM General Secretariat in Juba where he is a Secretary for Finance until to-date. Angelo Akech Akeen shall be held responsible for his press release, the release even the State Chairperson is denying now!!”
He added that what the party considers as unjustified rumor shall be investigated and the source will be held responsible for the cause. He also said that the source only intended to humiliate and defame the CaretakerGovernor.
“Comrade Kuel Aguer is a Senior SPLM member who cannot be humiliated simply like that. He is a legitimatemember of the Party who campaigned for the election of Gen. Paul and the President and who is now the Governor of the State, who is answerable to the State Assembly on administration and to SPLM Political Bureau and Liberation Council on Party issues.” He said.
Diing challenged the party’s members who are eyeing the chair of SPLM in the state to equip themselves politically and be ready to contest for the post in due time.
“The SPLM Chairmanship elections are near and anybody who wants to become the SPLM Chair should bepatient and he /she will peacefully convince the party council to elect him / her on that day; people should not wrangle with a lot of egoism before the right time could come.”
The state political situation has been unstable following the party’s urgent and emergency meeting held on January 3rd to replace non-existing members and to iron out some of the political differences, a meeting which every citizen in state considers as a political provoking to the senior members of the ruling party.
