At least six people were killed in an inter-clans revenge attack between the Rup and Nyang Clans of Rumbek Centre last weekend in Lake State.

RUMBEK, 26 May 2015 [Gurtong]-Jok Ayom, Lake State Minister of Local Government and Law Enforcement Agency, also the Acting State Spokesperson said that those killed includes a high school student and an SPLA officer at Rumbek Centre armed youths.

“Yes what happened was on 23rd when one person from Nyang section from Rumbek Centre was killed while travelling from Rumbek Town to langcok and the suspects are said to be from Rup section” Ayom said.

According to Ayom, the Nyang section decided to take revenge by going to the house where a third year student from Rumbek Secondary School was sleeping at 11pm and killed him.

Ayom said that investigations are now underway to find those involved.

“Our military intelligence are working very hard with CIDs and the Executives Director in the County and are trying to find the suspects so that they can face the law” He said.

He said that politicians and community chiefs will be involved in solving the inter-clans revenge attacks.
