MALAKAL, 16th June 2015 [Gurtong] – The Minister of Information, Hon. Peter Hoth Tuach said the planes are suspected to be warplanes from the neighbouring Sudan.

He said that the planes bombed Khor-Tomba an area within Maban County bordering Sudan.

“A suspected Sudanese antonov dropped two bombs in Maban County of Upper Nile on June 14th. Four children and a woman were wounded. This is not the first time a suspected Sudanese warplane has bombed the area,” Tuach stated.

Tuach said that South Sudan would love to maintain a cordial relationship with its neighbours and therefore called on Sudan to stop what he termed as ‘its barbaric act’.

“South Sudan doesn’t want to have problems with her neighbours. Instead we want to maintain cordial relations with all neighbours,” he said.

Maban County in Upper Nile State is one of the regions hosting thousands of Sudanese refugees fleeing from the war in Blue Nile State of Sudan.
