The Commissioner of Wau County in Western Bahr el Ghazal State, Anthony Fada Ubur says hundreds of people have fled Wau County to Wau town due to insecurity.

WAU, 09 December 2015 [Gurtong] – According to Ubur, about 1,300 people have already arrived in Wau town from Tuesday morning from Greater Besselia and Kpiale Payam in Wau County and have been sheltered in Lokoloko area and others in different schools in the town.

“We have displaced people, they are coming from greater Besselia and they are now in Lokoloko, they are about 700 and also we have displaced people from Tobi school the total is around 600 and also we have displaced people in Kosti girls coming from Kpiale Payam, that is the whole number we got today. The situation is not good there that is why they are coming for protection in the town,” said Ubur.

There is tension in the State following last weeks’ attack by the rebels.
