BOR, 15 January 2016 [Gurtong]- The Commissioner of Bor, Mamer Ruk said that Governor Philip Aguer will be explaining to the communities that the creation of the States is not based on tribal ideology but on administrative division whose fundamental objectives are to deliver services to the people.

“Our Governor is in the process of touring the three Counties of Jonglei State and Payams from Kolnyang Payam to Duk Payuel of Duk County,” Mamer said.

He said that they have informed all traditional chiefs of the various Payams and Bomas to prepare to receive the Governor.

Earlier this month, Jonglei’s Governor Philip Aguer met with the traditional chiefs and agreed to construct roads beginning from Kolnyang Payam to Duk Counties in the northern part of Jonglei State.

He said that he will ensure a 30 kilometer stretch of feeder road is constructed from Pariak village to Bor town and later from Kolnyang to Anyidi, Makuach, Baidit Payam and Jalle.

Most of the roads in Jonglei become impassable during the rainy season due to flooding.

Roads connecting Bor, Duk and Twic East Counties were destroyed by flash floods in 2012.
