Indian and Pakistan Foreign Ministers ready to start talks

New Delhi: On Thursday, India & Pakistan announced their meeting of the foreign ministers on July 27 in New Delhi. The main concern of the meeting will be the cross-Kashmir confidence-building measures (CBMs) & concerns over terrorism. India’s external affairs ministry announced that the newly appointed foreign minister of Pakistan Hina Rabbani Khar will come to India for the bilateral talks.

The ministry also announced that, “These talk will be preceded by a meeting of the foreign secretaries of India & Pakistan on July 26.” On the other hand, the foreign ministry of Pakistan declared that Khar will visit for the meeting on the basis of the invitation of the Indian external affairs minister SM Krishna. Both the countries will also talk about the peace process resumed in February this year.

The talk between India & Pakistan were stopped due to the November 26-28 incident. But after this again both the countries decided to talk. The Indian officials said that, in this talk it will also be decided that how both the countries can enhance their trade & travel across the borders. The two sides will also try to take some strong actions to make the CBMs stronger than before. At the beginning of this week, a meeting of the joint working group of Indian & Pakistan has firmed up their relations for the CBMs.

The sources also said that, in this meeting both the countries will also discuss about the Kargil-Skardu bus link, an increase in the frequency of the Kashmir bus service between Srinagar & Muzaffarabad, & increase in the number of the trading days from two to four across the Line of Control (LoC) which divides Kashmir between the two nations. Krishna sent a felicitation to Khar when she became the foreign minister to meet for the friendly & cooperative relations between the two countries. The talk between both the foreign ministers in the shadow of triple blasts in Mumbai on July 13.
