imagesChina and Kyrgyzstan have pledged to work together in curbing the threat of terrorism. This was decided in the talks between Chinese Police Chief Meng Jianzhu and Kyrgysztan’s Chairman of State Committee for National Security, Keneshbel Dushebayev.

The two countries have a good track record of working to defy terrorism, separatism and extremism as well as drug-trafficking in their respective territories. Meng also stated that both the countries have worked on their border management and improved that along with their law enforcement agencies.

“We hope both sides can deepen pragmatic cooperation and improve the capability to prevent and fight terrorist acts in order to safeguard security and stability in both countries and in the region,” said Meng, minister of public security.

The meeting of the two officials concluded with the signing of an agreement which highlighted the establishment of a communication mechanism on border issues between the Ministry of Public Security in China and State Committee for National Security in Kyrgyzstan.
