American fugitive arrested in Toronto

On Friday September 2, 2011, the Toronto Police Service Fugitive Squad, with the assistance of the TPS Sex Crimes Unit and Canada Border Services Agency, arrested a fugitive from the United States alleged to be hiding in Toronto.

Steven Paul Konyaki, 30, was arrested at 12:05 p.m., at an address in the Queen Street East/Pape Avenue area.

He is currently wanted by the state of Massachusetts for:

1) Rape of a 14-year-old female

2) Rape of two older females

It is alleged that:

– he fled the United States in early August, arriving in Canada on Monday, August 8, 2011.

He is being held in custody pending immigration proceedings.
