Asma Jahangir, the President (SCBA), Supreme Court Bar Association, on Tuesday said that MQM (Muttahida Qaumi Movement) has badly established Bhatta culture which is known as a criminal offence which occurs when a person unlawfully obtains either money, property etc which has been practices in Karachi and it was still indulged in minting extortion money.
A five-member special bench of the court was presented with the case which is hearing the suo motu case regarding Karachi killings at SC Karachi Registry, the SCBA chief said that MQM initiated an action in Karachi which is chased by other parties of the area.
Asma Jahangir said that Muttahida Qaumi Movement was engaged in worsening law, peace and order condition in the city for the last 10 years. “The government needs to understand they serve the people. Fundamental rights are for the people and not for political parties,” she said. But no particular action was being taken against this increasing threat.
