Perlis: Despite sunshine, more evacuated from flood areas

According to the news 694 more people were saved from the flood and evacuated to flood relief centre. According to Perlis flood operations room spokesman they belong to 178 families. According to him these victims are privileged at 14 evacuation centres by 8 pm. The evacuation centre have established in the areas of  Titi Tinggi Hilir, Panggas Besar, Guar Medang Gatal, Kampung Melayu Batu 15, Kampung Syed Omar, Kampung Syed Omar and Panggas Kecil.

The spokesman said that flood water in Kangar rose has affected 384 victims belonging to 90 familes even in the sunshine. These victims were rescued by the nine evacuation centres.

Flood water is moving back in Arau where 272 victim from 77 families are sheltered by four evacuation centers.

In Padang Besar, flood conditions are getting better and 38 victims from 11 families are sheltered in an evacuation centre leaving the rest of centers closed.

The examinations of UPSR will not b changed due to flood and the 4594 participants will appear in 75 centers and students will be shipped to the school providing the vehicles.

According to Perlis education director Don Kasa the examination of the two major schools, Sekolah Kebangsaan Tengku Budriah, Arau and Sekolah Kebangsaan Padang Melangit ,could b held on first floor of the school but the schools had to be closed.

The water level of the noon was recorded at 29.18 metres, which was 0.42 metres less than the danger level.
