Senior Bharatiya Janata Party leader, LK Advani is refusing to accept the RSS pressure to formally announce that Advani’s yatra in opposition to corruption is not intended to project him as the BJP’s candidate for Prime Minister in the next Lok Sabha elections.
LK Advani says that he is quite happy to be with the party and there is no such intention in him to be candidate for the Prime Minister’s position. This has been seen as a decision forced on him by the RSS, the sources reported.
The RSS was annoyed when Advani announced his one-sided yatra.
In 2009, when the number of BJP seats in Lok Sabha came down from 138 to 116, Advani had been rejected by the people. On the other hand Congress rose from 145 to 206.
Mohan Bhagwat, the chief of RSS has been made clear by Advani, in their meeting in Nagpur, that the Sangh would support Advan’s proposed yatra only if Bhagwat gave a statement of not being in the list of PM.
This is concerning the next round of elections which has been predicted by many political pundits as next year instead of 2014. This has been predicted because of the weak status of the UPA in common and the Congress in particular.
