In the 2G controversy, Home Minister P Chidambaram has offered to resign. He spoke to the Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and offered his resignation.

The Home Minister offered his resignation while visiting earthquake hit areas in Sikkim.

The PM appreciated Chidambaram’s services as Finance and Home Minister. “He has full faith in Chidambaram,” Mr Manmohan said.

The PM also assured the media that there was no disagreement between his senior most ministers. “I don’t want to conclude that there is a fight among our ministers. That’s your reading," the PM said.

"I don’t know what note you people are talking about, in any case the matter is before the court, it is not proper for me to comment on a matter that is subjudice. But as far as Mr Chidambaram is concerned, as finance minister he continued to enjoy my full confidence, as home minister he continues to enjoy my full confidence," Manmohan Singh said.
