Pranab Mukherjee the Finance Minister has blamed the PMO, the Prime Minister’s Office, for leaking the controversial 2G note.
The Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee will meet Sonia Gandhi on Monday after his return from New York. This is because of the Pranab’s “continuing damage control measures” in the 2G scam controversy. Pranab will update Sonia about his meeting with the Prime Minister in New York. He will also talk about the correspondence on 2G note.
In New York, Mukherjee met Prime Minister Manmohan Singh where he handed all the correspondence concerning 2G to Mr Manmohan Singh.
Manmohan Singh was told that the PMO’s role in the 2G controversy could also come under scrutiny. Pranab also said that the note was released by the Prime Minister’s Office and not the office of Pranab Mukherjee.
Moreover, Pranab will also meet P Chidambaram, the Home Minister, on his arrival in India.
Over the 2G note confusion Pranab has addressed the media in New York on Sunday where he criticized all the reports of certain conflicts between him and Chidambaram.
