A Raja former telecom minister said that P Chidambaram former finance minister and now home minister should be summoned in the court. He said that the Chidambaram must be examined as a witness in the 2G spectrum allocation case.
"Call Chidambaram here (in the court) and ask him whether this meeting took place or not in the presence of the Prime Minister and you (Chidambaram) gave this advice or not. Call him and confront him with the minutes of the meeting," A Raja said.
UU Lalit, the special public prosecutor filed an application before OP Saini, the Special CBI Judge. The application was related to a case of criminal breach of trust.
This was a special case of criminal breach of trust, under Section 409 of the Indian Penal Code. This was against A Raja, former telecom secretary Siddharth Behura and Raja’a former private secretary RK Chandolia.
The appeal of CBI said that other than Raja and two former officials, others, especially including three telecom firms and DMK MP Kanimozhi should be charged under section 409 (criminal breach) which is also read with 120 B (criminal conspiracy) of the IPC.
"It is submitted that accused 1, 2, and 3 (Raja, Behura and Chandolia) were public servants having a dominion over valuable 2G spectrum in their respective capacities as public servants," said the CBI application.
