Manmohan Singh, the Prime Minister returned back to India and defended P Chidambaram the Home Minister against 2G scam. On the other hand, the JPC had said that it was determined to get the “truth in the 2G spectrum issue”.
"As far as Chidambaram is concerned, I have said it that he continued to enjoy my full confidence when he was finance minister. And he continues to enjoy my full confidence as home minister that applies to him and that applies to Mukherjee." Manmohan Singh was talking to the media after arriving back from New York where the PM attended the UN General Assembly sessions.
The Prime Minister Manmohan Singh became offensive as he defended the government over the 2G scam. He criticized the opposition and said that there was “no chance of mid-term polls”.
Upon the Prime Minister Manmohan Singh’s return from New York the “political war” over the 2G scam is “heating up”, as the PM is attacking the opposition over 2G scam.
Mr Manmohan has accused that the Opposition is trying to force mid-term polls.
The Bharatiya Janata Party has criticized that the 2G scam was not the “Opposition’s creation”.
The Congress president Sonia Gandhi and Manmohan Singh the Prime Minister are likely to meet party leaders to resolve the 2G scam on Wednesday.
