China: 56 Die in 3 Road Accidents

Following a week long holiday in China in lieu of China’s National Day, 56 people were killed in 3 major road accidents across the country. 35 people included in the accidents were young boys and girls. According to the Xinhua News Agency, the accidents took place in port city of Tianjin, eastern Anhui province and central Henan province.

In Tianjin, the bus was over speeding and passengers were thrown out of the bus when it crashed with a car. 18 people were injured in this accident.

In Anhui province, owing to the cloudy and foggy weather 24 vehicles were piled up and 10 people died and 19 were injured.

In central Henan province, a truck crashed in to a van and 11 people were killed.

Road crashes in China kill an estimated 100,000 and injure nearly half a million every year according to the UN’s world health body, WHO.
