Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok GehlotIn a bid to clean up his party image and win back the confidence of Rajasthan, Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has sacked five ministers from his team.

The newly appointed members will take oath tomorrow afternoon. The names of the sacked ministers are Golma Devi (minister for khadi and village industries), Ram Lal Jat (minister for forest and environment), Bharosi Lal Jatav (minister for agriculture, animal Husbandry & fisheries), Pramod Jain “Bhaya” (minister for PWD, science & technology) and Master Bhanwar Lal (minister for labor and employment, primary education, secondary education.

The newly inducted members are Virender Beniwal, Amin Pathan, Dayaram Parmar, Manju Meghwal, Naseem Akhtar and Vinod Choudhary. Moreover seven fresh Parliamentary Secretaries have also been inducted by Mr. Gehlot.

The action taken by Mr. Gehlot comes after he was left ashamed and red faced many times recently with shameful scandals involving his minister. One of the most high profile scandals involved Mahilpal Maderna who was a minister till the month gone by. He was caught on tape with Bhanwari Devi in an uncompromising position. The disc containing the footage released after Bhanwari Devi went missing from her home.

The opposition on the other hand has termed the shake up as unsatisfactory and they are demanding Ashok Gehlot to step down from his post.
