Supreme Court of Pakistan has instructed the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) to bring all the corrupt Railway officials to the court hearing within the next three days. SC also ordered the concerned authorities to re-post the secretary of Railway Board back to his position.

SC held the hearing of the hearing of the case of the current condition of the Railway Pakistan with special reference to delays in the salaries of employees and non-payment of pension to the retired staff members on Tuesday. The panel of three judges was headed by the Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry who instructed the NAB to ensure that all the concerned Railway officers involved in the corruption cases were present in the next court hearing which is in three days. He said it is the responsibility of NAB to eliminate corruption and promote policies which discourage corruption in the system other than bargaining with the corrupt officers and letting them go.

CJ further criticized the performance of NAB and said that higher officers such as the Chairman and Minister of Railway are being named in corruption scandals where NAB is only busy running after the poor who do not have enough backbone to bride the NAB officers and sign a bargain. He said that NAB itself had corrupt administration which is busy making money and have no interest whatsoever in serving the nation.

He concluded the hearing saying if NAB had the courage to catch the actual influential culprits behind the corruption scams, they can do it within the next three days and show it to the SC that they are not incapable.
