The vice chairman Tan Kok Wai asked his party members to not bring their internal matters in front of the public at such a crucial time of general elections as that has a bad effect on the minds of the voters.
DAP has been facing various internal conflicts with various groups within the party fighting amongst themselves for power and position. The internal quarrels being brought to the attention of the public are only causing the party negative image where supporters might reconsider siding with a party which cannot solve their own problems, let alone taking care of the country.
Karpal Singh, the chairman of the party has showed mistrust over the decision taken by the disciplinary committee of DAP.
The vice-chairman of the party spoke to the media catering to the outspoken behaviour of his party chairperson and said, “If he is not happy, he should raise the matter at the party meeting. After all, he is the party chairman”. Wai said the above mentioned words in response to the reporters asking him about the proceedings of Karpal case with the disciplinary committee.
The issue amongst the party chairman, Karpal Singh, and the secretary of the party P. Ramasamy took heat when the disciplinary committee formulated to solve the issue sided with Ramasamy.
Agitated and annoyed by the result of his own party, Singh spoke to the media and clarified that he is not hampering the image of the party in the view of public but only bringing the matters to the public as awareness is their right. He said, “The complaint I raised is of public interest”.
