Prime Minister of Pakistan Yousaf Raza Gillani has asked his youngest son Ali Musa Gillani to return to Pakistan at the earliest and face investigations regarding the import of a restricted chemical into the country on Wednesday.

Ali Musa Gillani was accused of involvement in the ephedrine drug in Pakistan. The case was under investigation in the Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) initially which was later brought to the attention of the Supreme Court as it was reported by the investigating head at ANF that some influential member of the government was pressurizing the administration to drop the case. The secretary of ANF has also been accused of attempting to hide the connection of the son of the PM deliberately during the process of investigation. ANF investigation team had requested the SC to put Ali Musa Gillani in the Exit Control List before sending him a notice so that he does not leave the country. The SC did not do so and Ali Musa Gillani fled the country the next day with his personal secretary informing the media that he will be back in no time and this was a previously planned tour to South Africa.

The spokesperson of the PM informed the media that the PM has personally requested his son to wrap up his appointments in South Africa and return to Pakistan quickly to ensure smooth proceedings in the ephedrine case.
