The lawyer of the Prime Minister of Pakistan, Aitzaz Ahsen, sticks to his point and claims that the points he raised in the courtroom are valid and that no one can deny them.
He expressed his opinion on Wednesday while speaking to a gathering of media members and clarified that he is not using any tactics to delay the proceedings or add days to the hearings. He is only pointing out what is according to the law and in the constitution.
Supreme Court of Pakistan had adjourned the hearing of the contempt of court case till tomorrow. Aitzaz also happened to have mentioned to the media outside the court yesterday that the constitution can be amended with the majority of the parliamentarians agreeing to do so and the decision of the Supreme Court can also be challenged in the parliament. However, he quickly added that this is not the intention of the government but only stating that it is possible.
He said, “This is not a matter concerning Asif Ali Zardari, this is a matter concerning the president of the country. When Zardari’s presidential tenure will end, the court’s decision to write to Swiss authorities for reopening graft cases against Zardari should be implemented.â€
