Olympian Vijender Singh has denied drug trafficking allegations against him. Police recently discovered heroin from a flat in Zirakpur, Mohali. Allegedly, the vehicle parked at the scene belongs to the boxer’s wife. Vijender has refused having any connection with Rs 130-crore drug haul, claiming to be in Mumbai at that time.

“I have nothing to do with these people. I do not know how my name has come up in this matter. I do not know these people. I was in Mumbai for some work and had left my car at NIS Patiala. Nothing was found in my car,” said Vijender.

Allegedly, Vijender’s wife’s car had 10 kilograms of heroin in it. Police arrested Anup Singh Kahlon on March 3, who now claims to have supplied heroine to Vijender and another boxer Ram Singh. Kahlon is also reported to have links in South America and Europe.

“We have recovered 26 kilograms of heroin from two smugglers. This is worth Rs 130 crore. We are expecting more recoveries in coming days. This is a very big scandal. These NRIs have built an international chain,” SSP Fatehgarh Sahab Hardyal Mann Singh reported.

Vijender’s brother Manoj also refused to accept that his brother could have any connection with these drug dealers.

“These allegations against my brother are completely baseless and we condemn it. Vijender was in Gurgaon and was not involved in any of these deals. We deny his involvement,” said Manoj.
