KP Chief Minister Amir Haider Khan Hoti and Opposition Leader Akram Khan Durrani claims the nominated former Justice Tariq Pervez has no political affiliations and has served the country in one of the most transparent manner.

“We considered several impartial persons for the coveted slot but indeed we had to finally select only one person… We did not correspond through letters, I went to Akram Durrani and discussed different names and finally nominated Tariq Pervez for the slot of caretaker CM of the province,” Hoti maintained.

Responding to a question, Amir Haider Hoti said rumors about delay in elections were just conspiracy theories. He maintained that it is incredibly important for the country to hold free and fair election. CM Hoti also said that election for the national as well as for provincial assemblies should be held on the same date.

“I would send request to governor PK to dissolve the assembly with the National Assembly, as we want election on one day in the country,” he added.

Former justice Tariq Pervez was appointed as a judge of the Peshawar High Court and was elevated to the slot of Chief Justice in 2005. He was from among those judges who did not take oath under the PCO after emergency was imposed by former President General Pervez Musharraf (Retd) on November 3, 2007.
