BJP MP Navjot Singh Sidhu is distressed after Rajnath Singh left him out of the BJP national executive. The former cricketer has indicated to end his political career after he was sidelined by his party on unfair grounds. According to Sidhu’s wife, Navjot Kaur Sidhu, a BJP MLA from Amritsar, Sidhu is a three-time MP from Amritsar and he is not very happy with the party for sidelining him.
“There have been allegations that Sidhu has stayed away and has been ignoring his constituency for other things. That is not the case. I put up the Facebook post to clarify that the problem is not with him but the political system he works in,” Kaur said.
Kaur uploaded her status on Facebook stating that Sidhu had been “made to feel suffocated in the system for his honesty”.
“How can you let an honest leader survive? One who does not believe in corruption, does not support criminals, does not become party to commission system, what good can he do to party?” she added.
There are rumors about conflicts between Sidhu and other party members over his sustained interest in showbiz. His appearance in the controversial TV show Bigg Boss, his involvement in comedy shows and his cricket commentary have also irked party workers.
“While taking up projects you lose out on money and everything, including giving time to the family. And then the party does not recognize your efforts,” Kaur said.
