Both Houses adjourned amid incessant demands for PM’s resignation

Lok Sabha was adjourned for the day at noon when the members of opposition parties walked out of the parliament raising slogans and demanding the resignation of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on Friday. Rajya Sabha was also adjourned till 2.30 pm after BJP demanded for the resignation of the Prime Minister.

In addition, members of Akali Dal who sought a Supreme Court-monitored Special Investigation Team probe into the ‘1984 genocide’ also joined BJP members in their protest. In the meanwhile, Samajwadi Party members also slogans against Chinese incursions in Ladakh.

Members of the TDP and BJP were also seen on their feet carrying placards in support of the Akali Dal demand. BJP members rushed to the Well raising slogans against the government and demanding the Prime Minister to step down over the coal-gate scam.

Earlier, Speaker Meira Kumar read out an obituary reference to the passing away of Krishna Kumar Goyal, a member of the sixth and seventh Lok Sabha. As the Question Hour arrived, several parties caused disruption and forced the parliament to adjourn. Speaker Kumar tried her best to continue with the Question Hour but adjourned the House till noon. At noon, she was forced to adjourn the House for the day as the slogan-shouting grew intense.
