Chief of the newly empowered PML-N, Mian Nawaz Sharif has indicated that he will be pleased by the presence of Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh at his oath-taking ceremony in Islamabad. He also reiterated that the olive branch he extended towards India during his poll campaigns would be further extended. The Indian commerce ministry has expressed hope that the new Pakistani government would encourage trade relations between the two countries.

Talking to the media, he urged the supporters of the country’s second largest political party, Pakistan Tehrik-i-insaaf, to keep their cool and accept public mandate. PML-N has time and again declared to refresh the national policy of Pakistan in order to improve the law and order situation and curb terrorism. Nawaz said his party has also suffered from terrorist activities and his senior party member Sanaullah Zehri was recently attacked by terrorists in Balochistan. He said his government will discuss the problem of terrorism at great length and devise a strategy by taking all the other parties in confidence.

Before general election 2013, PML-N claimed to revive the economic situation of Pakistan; it is now time to see them deliver. Nawaz has clearly established that his government is against US led drone attacks and he would try to convince America to halt such unnecessary missions. He also declared that his government would draft long term policies on all the widespread issues faced by Pakistan within the first 100 days.
