PPP deputy secretary General Raza Rabbani blames the global establishment for his party’s terrible defeat in May 11 elections. He accused foreign agencies for plotting against People’s Party and ensuring that their election campaign is greatly hindered. Senator Rabbani also alleged that the motive behind the conspiracy was to form a government that can fulfill foreign agendas.
On the contrary, Rabbani requested other political parties to accept the mandate given by Sindh just as the PPP has accepted the mandate given by other provinces. He confirmed that PPP would become a vigilant opposition and keep a very close eye on the government’s performance.
Senator Rabbani also claimed that his party would work hand-in-hand with the government to solve major issues like terrorism and economic crisis. He referred to PPP’s seven-point agenda as the key to ensure that the new government forms productive policies on economic issues, employment, price hikes, trade unions, provincial autonomy, education and health.
The senator showed special interest in the new policy for the Gwadar Port, which was handed over to China, and the Iran-Pakistan gas pipeline project. Important decisions on these two projects were taken towards the end of PPP-led government. The new government will have to pursue with the decisions with immense consideration and thoughtful planning. Rabbani said he hoped that the new government would execute these agreements in letter and spirit because they were in the interest of the nation.
